The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS) offers an application that provides a comprehensive overview of natural disasters occurring worldwide. Users can access a range of recent events, including earthquakes, droughts, volcanic eruptions, tropical cyclones, tsunamis, and floods, which are visually represented through color-coded icons. These icons are accompanied by a list format and are overlaid on a Google Maps backdrop, where the colors—green, orange, and red—signify varying levels of alert. Additionally, the transparency of the icons decreases with the age of the reported event.

By selecting an icon, users can delve deeper into the specifics of each disaster event. The application also includes the option to display UTM or geographic grids on the map for enhanced navigation and understanding.

Recently, the app has introduced a dark mode setting, catering to user preferences for visual comfort during usage.
